HOW DO I ORDER A CAKE?

If you wish to order one of our specialty cakes,  email us to get the ball rolling.  Due to a high call volume and the time needed to put a quote together, the easiest way is via email. The needed information is the date you need the cake for, how many people the cake would need to feed, a photo of a cake idea you have (or one can be designed for you) and if delivery would be needed.  If delivery is needed please include what city the cake would be going to.  

 

HOW MUCH ARE YOUR CAKES?

All of our cakes are individually priced based on the complexity of the design and size.  Because our cakes are completely custom made, we do not have a standard pricing list but the lowest price point we have is $3.75 per serving.  (Small cakes generally have a higher per serving cost) Some examples of pricing are: 

8" that feeds about 20/25 servings starts at $100

small 2 tier cake ( 6"+8") that feeds about 35/45 starts at $160

 

IS THERE A MINIMUM ORDER? 

Yes!!! The minimum order amount is $100. It can be a combination of items to get you to that price point or a single cake but the minimum to book an order is $100. 

 

WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT POLICY ?

We require a  deposit of 30% due up front to reserve your spot on our production calendar. The remaining balance is due a week BEFORE the event date. Late payment may result in cancellation of order or minimum of 20% cost increase. 

Orders made less than a week in advance require full payment for order to be taken. 

Deposits and payments are non refundable for any reason.  This includes, cancellation of the event, changing mind, not completing payments on time,  running out of money, emergency etc.  ANY REASON. 

 

HOW DO I PAY MY DEPOSIT/PAYMENTS

Once you receive a quote and decide on your order an invoice will be sent to you via email.  The invoice will reflect the full total of your order however it will only require you to pay the deposit amount to book your date.  The invoice remains open and keeps track of all your payments allowing you to make payments at any time, for any amount,  until the balance is paid in full.  Just remember the balance must be paid in full at least 7 days before the event, no exceptions. 

 

DO YOU DELIVER?

YES!  We do deliver and HIGHLY recommend delivery for any cakes larger than 2 tiers.  Delivery fees are calculated by distance traveled and time it would take.  Delivery more than 50 miles away are taken on case by case basis. 

In some areas there is a minimum order of $250 BEFORE delivery fee is added. 

For cakes that need delivery and set up (mainly larger cakes and wedding cakes) we suggest choosing a set up time close to the start of the event.  Once we deliver and set up the cake Sweet City Cakes is not responsible for damage to cakes once they have been left in good condition.  

We set up your cake when and where you want it however we do NOT recommend:

Setting up your cake a long time before your event. 

Setting up your cake outdoors in warm weather as your cake may melt. 

Setting up your cake on an uneven surface as your cake will shift. 

 

Setting up your cake at a height where children may poke, move or even bite your cake. (YES this has

happened lol)

Attempting to move your cake once it has been set up if you are not used to moving heavy cakes. 

 

CAN I PICK UP MY ORDER?

Of course! While self transporting smaller cakes is generally not a problem for most clients, it is at your own risk.  Sweet City Cakes is not responsible for any damage to any client transported cake once it has been given  to customer/customer appointed pick up person. The cake will be given to you/your appointed pick up person and you/they will be the ones to place your order in their vehicle. Saturday pick up times are from 8am-9am sharp.   

 

PICK UP TIME...

Pick up time is between 7am and 9am sharp.  Your order is guaranteed to be ready at that time for you.  If you are late picking up your order after the window given, a late fee will be charged of $10 for every 1-10 minutes you are late without exception..  The maximum time waiting will be 20 minutes but you are not guaranteed that anyone will be available if after 9am as deliveries start taking place right after that.  If you are late more than 2 times you will be placed on a "delivery only" status and will have to pay for delivery for each subsequent order.  

We pride ourselves in never being late for a delivery so in some cases if you are late, you will have to wait till other orders are delivered.  In the result that an all day event is being attended, another pick up will not be available till later that night. Again, YES this has happened.  Please respect our time as we respect yours.

 

FOOD ALLERGIES/DO YOUR PRODUCTS CONTAIN NUTS?

Sweet City Cakes is NOT a nut free environment, so we HIGHLY suggest that anyone with ANY kind of allergy refrain from consuming any of our products.  Even if the cake itself has no nuts, there is always the  possibility of cross contamination as we do use nut products.

 

CAN YOU COPY OTHER BAKERS CAKE DESIGNS?

You may send photos of other cake designers work and we will use them as inspiration.  Though your photos will be used as reference, each custom cake is different and no 2 cakes can be made identical. We will try our best to keep true to your design but can not guarantee a perfect color match or identical cake as we are not the ones who made the initial cake. We make no claims for exact duplication of the work of other cake designers.  You are hiring Sweet City City cakes for our amazing cake taste and our creative artistic abilities so keep in mind that a cake made by us will look like it was made BY US. By hiring us you grant us creative license and all design is subject to artistic interpretation by our expert cake designer.
